Our story
Ten years designing homes that deserved better furniture.
For more than a decade, our founders have done one thing: design homes that are beautifully, intentionally put together - without their clients paying exorbitant prices for designer furniture. That is the whole specialty. Maison Riv is what happens when designers who've solved that problem hundreds of times decide to solve it for everyone.
Why we exist
In America, great design only ever came at a great price.
Every project ended the same way. A client would fall for a piece from a celebrated European house, and the only way to own it was to pay a markup of three to five times its real cost. The alternative was a cheap reproduction that looked the part and fell apart.
We knew there was a third way, because we'd seen behind the curtain. The furniture wasn't made by the brand on the label - it was made by specialist ateliers. So we went straight to them.

Over a decade of furnishing individual homes, our founders built real relationships with a small circle of trusted manufacturing partners - the family upholstery houses, stone workshops, and mills that quietly produce for the names you know. Those relationships, not a warehouse, are the company. They're why we can promise the same quality as the high-end makers of Europe, in the same designs, at a fraction of the price.

We choose every piece the way we'd specify it for a client's home - for proportion, material, and how it lives in a real room, not how it photographs in a catalogue.
Direct from the maker
We buy straight from the ateliers that produce for the world's most coveted design houses, and skip the gallery, the licensing fee, and the showroom rent.
Honest about price
We show you exactly where your money goes. You pay for the material and the labor - never for the name on the tag.
Made to your room
Because we know the makers personally, we can commission a piece to your dimensions, your fabric, your finish. Most of what we do began as a custom request.
